Thanks for your thoughts on this doc, it’s been sitting with me since I watched it last week. Watching pee-wee is one of my earliest memories, the show came out when I was 1 and my mom who had two other kids plopped me in front of it on Saturday mornings so she could get her chores done. It shaped and molded my brain just like you said, that the playhouse world was “normal” and everything else, all the insincere buttoned up adult energy, was weird. I’ve spent my life trying not to lose that perspective. I have a 6 month old kid now and I’m grateful that I can at least somewhat try and relate to her on her baby level in some ways because of Paul Rubens. ❤️❤️
